have you been advised by your prescriber or pharmacist that the medication can / should be crushed ?
Which type of metformin tabs are they?
Some you shouldn't crush - the extended release ones.
Some tabs are specifically formulated only to dissolve in certain conditions - so they will dissolve after the stomach for example, so crushing those would be bad mmkay.
As mentioned - just check with the pharmacist.

As above, why are you crushing it? Obviously if it's modified release you shouldn't be.
You can get metformin liquid but it can give people the runs more easily......
If your gp is OK with you crushing it these are one of the best I've used in terms of life span and usability.

I don't know how big they are, but it's possible they're having problems getting them down. I take Osteocare for my bones and they're like something you would give to a horse. You're not supposed to, but I chomp them before washing them down and even that's hard and the bits get stuck, some people just have small throats.
If that's the case then I think the correct answer from above is to get it in liquid form which is what I'll be doing.
