Hi all,

I've got a Cayman GTS (981) and I want to chip it. I recently found RaceChip, which look like a great company, but they don't have an solution for my car model.

Has anyone else found a good provide of engine chipping solutions for the Cayman GTS (981)?

Thanks!

I would use a generic chip for the motor, a custom map yes, but unless you have modified the breathing or other performance area's the standard map is fine. I doubt a chip or re-map on the standard car would give much at all.

Cobb do one.

and some on here has one for sale 2nd hand for your car inc PDK fast shifts if you also have PDK.

you will need manifolds to get the best from a the 981 but they do reach 380BHP ;-)

From my research, exhaust, manifold, intake manifold, intake, mapping, 7K euros from Jens.

Any idea how much improvement vs Carnewal 200 cell cats on the original headers? Do equal length manifolds make a big difference, for example?

the key to modding is being able to go back to stock at the drop of a hat, so modified headers which A: ruin the oem car and b: don't give the full gains seems pointless imo.

one can always sell the after market Manfiolds for 1/2 the cost also when done.

I guess you won't get the full 380BHp but you will get more than oem with 4x400 cell cats in them.

DMS Automotive are quoting 390bhp on their website. I am tempted but not whilst I’m in warranty I don’t think.

I have an m135i remapped by them with excellent results (c400 bhp) but that’s a turbo so a little more straight forward I guess.

A friend has his 996TT mapped to 525bhp there also and his old 986 S. They map some spectacular stuff and of all the places that’s where I’d go.
