GT3 all the way - as long as it suits your particular needs eg don't need rear seats, probably not the most ideal daily driver. I use mine at weekends and trackdays - & its stunning.
996TT a close second. Best all round sports car ever made IMO.
Cheers
Ajit.
Thanks Ajit but this would be my daily drive and the GT3 would not fit the bill. I also need to carry some bulky design models which I can fit in the 996 but not if it has a roll cage

993 turbo 4. strasse has one for 43K. 1.5-2k to insure, 5k left to pay for a decent hoon around the swiss alps
Thanks softinthehead.
I did think of that option and I like the look of the 993 but would it make a good daily drive ?
I was also looking for something newer than my 1999 C4.
Will

will it make a good daily drive? - yes. i was truly priveleged to have one for 3 months when my stepfather didnt need his. i used it every day, took the kids to school, did the shopping, and smiled smiled smiled.
if you want something newer then there's no debate - except to ask why? build quality on the 993 is truly superb. probably less robust on the 996 - see recent threads to ask why. the 993 turbo is tremendously sought after and has virtually stopped depreciating. the 996 hasnt. its an awful, awful lot of car for the money

wot 'e sed.
I wish the 993 turbo was still depreciating. They were going for about £45k three years ago...
Mind you, the moment I buy one... kiss of death, me... anyone want to pay me NOT to buy a 993 Turbo

I just bought my third 993, and this time it's a tt. It's my daily driver, and it's great. Docile enough below 3k rpm that you can drive it normally and keep up with and even outrun normal traffic. Once you start boosting though, everything else looks like it's going backwards.
Commuting, putting the bikes on the roof, packing it up for a week away, going shopping, going for a blast at 5am on a sunday morning, it does it all.
Do it! Go on, you know you want to.

That one at Henry's has been there a while - probably because it's Riviera blue - personally I think it looks fantastic

Thanks guys,
Riviera blue
£5 spent on cheap shades
could go for a 993 turbo. Ok the question is, £50k to spend on a 996 Turbo or 993 Turbo ? Given I like the look of my 996 C4 more than the over dressed 996 turbo maybe the 993 is the way to go

get yourself a drive in a 993tt and a 996tt (somewhere like Specialist Cars shouldn't be too far from you right? Do they do test drives?)
you'll know the instant you drive the second one which one you prefer.
good advice VS. There is a nice 996 turbo (2001) on ebay currently £40k but I don't think ebay is the place to buy
What specialists are there between Birmingham, Manchester and say Nottingham? I fancy going shopping this holiday weekend

Buying my 993tt is the very best thing I've ever done.
It's fast, incredibly reliable, solid, turns heads and gets attention like you wouldn't believe. It is a sports car that doubles as a GT, but the Gemballa exhausts brings in just the right amount of raucous character.
I think I must have gotten confused by the old adage about a dog being mans best friend, because this car has become much more than just a machine to me- a friend to take out and point toward any horizon at any hour of the morning or night!
Im currently trying to get everything on my car just perfect
