Hey guys, here is the story, the girl I live with has a Celica and there are some weird knocking noises coming from the suspension. We had it checked out and turns out that all the bushes, anti roll bars are okay, even the shock absorbers. They had the MOT procedure done on it and it was fine, but it still knocks. Am I right to think that it's coming from the shock absorbers? The indy said they were fine, but I still think it comes from there. Also when going above bumps there is a sound "of some metal plate that is loose" what is usually causing that? At first we thought it was caused by the broken spring we replaced but it's still going on.
Suggestions?

The knocking noise could be from the top mounts. The metal plate sound could be a loose heat shield. These are the areas I’d check first if your local Indy has checked the others that you have stated.

Thanks. Probably will need replacing, or I could get away with tightening the bolts biggrin

If it is your top strut mounts they will need to be replaced. It’s a normal wear and tear. Rubbers and bearings become worn over time. thumbup

It was the caliper guide pins rubber smile Now the cheap version was just replacing the pins, which we did and it's as good as new now smile
