Which is the best Cerbera to buy?

Looking at adding a Cerbera to the stable, which model is the best to buy?

As standard: 4.5 Red Rose

Or a 4.5 with a remap + air intake mods/ suspension etc etc

Or if you want something a little cheaper, a 4.2 with some suspension work makes an excellent car - if not as powerful as the above options.

The real answer is the one you like the most. (as long as it's a V8)

Personally I would go for A V8 that has mods like:-
AVOs or Nitrons
sports exhaust
Chip

18inch Spiders are also good.

Ensure it has aircon (that works)

Tasteful interior and exterior.

And I would go for lights as per leaving the factory - others will disagree but these cars are starting to move towards 'classic' status. they are like 80s 911s ie who wants one that was updated to look like a newer model.

Ultimately buy on condition.

Well Mr Five, you could go for an early 4.2 in Black and then we could form a club called the 'Jonnie(y)5 Black Cerb Club' (name negotiable)

Pick one you like, get it inspected by one of the specialists. Low mileage is not always a good thing, regular use is. :cough: V8

Looking at your stable on your profile , very nice set of cars owned now and before. Are you sure you want a cerb? most ex modern ferrari, porsche, lambo owners are not that into the TVR thing and end up a little dissappointed.

Which is why I recommend either a 4.5Red rose or a 4.5 thats had a remap (Joospeed/Austec style) - atleast then it cant disappoint in a straight line. Decent dampers/springs that are set up correctly should also bring it up to scratch in the corners, though im not sure how it'll compare to your previous cars abilities... what do you want the Cerbera for exactly? trackdays? weekends? daily driver?

Sounds good to me... see how it drives. If it runs well enough and seems to be what you are after - knock a bit off the price and throw it at the suspension £1k, for example, gets you a very nice set up through one of the upgrades specialists out there. Should make a very nice car indeed.

there are a few on this site
there was from memory a grey one in Bradford, a purple illusion one at Adrian Blyth (been for sale for a while), same colour in wales, James Agger has a very very late 4.2 etc etc
None are RR spec but a chip will sort that on the 4.5s

I think the very last 4.5 lightweight is still for sale at Parkgate TVR Belfast (brand new not registered as far as I know)
