Standalone controllers for DSG/ S Tronic boxes
Discussion
Looking for a DSG transaxle solution for a kit car project but wondering if there are any aftermarket "controllers" or ECU's to manage the modern DSG transmissions. An engine ECU that can also do the box would be fine too (and probably easier to wire).
Also are the modern quattro DSG boxes able to be converted to "FWD" only (or rwd in a transaxle set up). Google mentions welding up centre diffs works but that sounds like a bodge.

Hiya
I am currently working on an Arduino based controller to control a 7 speed 0B5 S-Tronic gearbox from an A7
I will have it set up so I also have a clutch pedal and H-Shifter so I can use it as a regular manual if I wish !
I have also removed the Torsen centre diff and had a local machine shop machine a blank that connects the input shaft to the front output shaft.
My setup is in an AC Cobra replica running Audi S5 (B8) running gear, 3.0VR6 Compound Turbo, gearbox in the back as a transaxle
I'll add you and keep you updated if you like ?

Impressive stuff, but under the circumstances you must know that the S5 engine isnt a VR6.I am currently working on an Arduino based controller to control a 7 speed 0B5 S-Tronic gearbox from an A7

Hi Sam, I run Arduino and RPI in my kit now and I’m looking to do the same as you with the DSG, would you be willing to involve me in your development?I am currently working on an Arduino based controller to control a 7 speed 0B5 S-Tronic gearbox from an A7

I know this is an absolute long shot, given that this post is 7 years old at this point, but is there any chance that you, Sam, ever finished that controller for the 7-speed 0B5? If so, I’d love to get in contact with you to hear how it worked out, and maybe you could help me develop a variation for my own setup.I am currently working on an Arduino based controller to control a 7 speed 0B5 S-Tronic gearbox from an A7

If anyone else knows of a solution for complete standalone control of the 7-speed 0B5, I’d love to hear from you as well. I need it to be fully independent, since I’m not running an Audi or VW-based engine. Otherwise, I’ll just go with an 01E or 0A3.
