Starlet/ Glanza rep ep91 project

Hey everyone,
So, over 12 years since turning 18 ive owned up to 30+ cars old and new. Ive never actually worked on cars as such other than mot fail fixes, general servicing or mods. I decided last year i wanted to learn more about cars hands on as i never got an opportunity to become a mechanic due to lifes funny ways so that being said what shall i buy?
I had a long look on ebay for a few weeks in september and came across a little gem in need of some tlc, a toyota starlet 1.3 4efe.
I only picked it up for £260 at 56k miles, full service history and a new cambelt change. The main issues with it is the clutch slips, original exhaust was held on with dodgy spring clips and a fair bit of tlc needed all round. Suprisingly the chassis and bodywork is completely rust free its just everything else that needs a good bit of tlc.

As you can see its a bit grotty... so my first bit of work only started in february. I give it a good wash and buff over with the mop and ended up looking pretty good tbf.
At this point it was going to be sold because i had too many cars outside the house but i got attached to it. I sold the civic type r instead as i already owned one previously and was just costing too much to keep running. I found a glanza kit for it for a good price, the kit wasnt immaculate but being as its a project ill learn to spray over it.
From that point, work came to a holt due to the lovely weather we have in this country until about a month ago, it picked up again so i decided to strip her out inside. I only have one picture where i half sprayed the carpet black.
This is as far as its got for the interior i plan to flock the dash and other plastics, put in a glanza cluster, oem steering wheel, turbo/ oil pressure dials with turbo timer, put a custom carpet with speakers over the spare wheel area, decent bucket seats with luke harnesses etc etc.
Ive focused my attention around the engine bay for now baring in mind ive never done any mechanical work in this area before. So far ive stripped a fair bit out intake manifold, exhaust manifold with cat, fuel rail with injectors, coolant pipes, air flow pipes, radiator, whiper motor, fuel filter, ht leads with housing etc. At the moment im just painting things and giving it a good clean i dont have some pictures of stuff ive done but ill add them next time.
The last picture is a clean up of the bay. My next job on the list is to get the gearbox off, wire brush it down for painting then put a new clutch kit in, not sure weather to get an exedy 4efte kit or stage 1? Im hoping to find some denso 4efte injectors, replace the head gasket for peace of mind even though theres no visible milk suspect, td04 turbo with mani/ dpipe, sports cat, intercooler, alluminium radiator, oil catch can, powerflex engine/gbox mounts etc.
After this i will move on back with the interior then focus on steering/ lowering suspension, brakes with glanza rear axle disc conversion, exhaust completion. Hope to update you all soon just tight on money putting in to the mortgage pot!
