Streaming Freesat Signal to Various TVs

Has anyone successfully managed this? I've seen various setups including TVheadend using Kodi but want something straightforward so the kids (and wife) can use it.

I'm doing this using enigma2 satellite boxes. I knew nothing about this a few months ago and if you are reasonably technically minded you could set this up. It's not a plug and play solution however and may require a little trial and error.

Your satellite dish (probably not a sky dish) will need a Unicable II LNB (make sure its a Unicable 2 LNB, not the older Unicable 1 standard). This will cost about £60 for the LNB.

You need a STB master box with FBC such as a Gigable UHD UE 4k or VU+ Uno 4K. This will allow, in conjunction with the LNB, your household to watch/record up to 8 channels simultaneously. Both boxes sell for around £220.

A basic enigma2 slave box such as a Edision OS nino (£70) for each room where you want to watch TV.

The slave boxes don't have wireless. I use powerline plugs instead.

I strongly recommend installing (and some retailers will do this for you) OpenVix operating system on the boxes.

Openvix has a client mode which means that the slave boxes connect via your local LAN to the master box. They can view any channels AND recordings that are on the main box and behave just like the master unit. This is great for the non-technically minded.

The master box will also stream to a PC or tablet/smartphone and like SkyGo you can access your box across the web - watch live TV, recordings or set program timers.

I simply have 8 cables from my dish, and split so they enter the house in pairs in four separate rooms.,,
