Just wondered what the correct length belt is for the serp engine with no pas.
I have a 7pk1855 fitted which looks to be toward the end of the tensioner.

I don't think power steering makes any difference because the engine uses the same pulley either way.

From my research Oe belt for a 400 with pas is 7pk 1850. .i just purchased a Dayco 1853 off eBay £12.73 includes p+p .
As a spare I’ll let you know how it fits when it comes.

1850 seem to be a little hard to come by. Have tried 1855 and it was right at the end of tensioner travel. Bought a 1843 which fits fine but could easily be 15-20 shorter.

Ok thanks all, so somewhere in the middle of 1809 to 1850 looks to be the best bet.

I have no pas on my current Chimaera and a belt 1855mm long is fitted. I get the feeling garages (and I include specialists here) are fitting the same size belt to all the cars. My tensioner looks to have been cooked by being so close to the manifold so I'm going for a shorter belt too.

My last Chimaera had a 7PK1853 belt fitted (still have the spare) and it had PAS.

Thanks, picked one of these up and it’s a much better fit.
