Oooooof!! IOM GT accident
Discussion
They all do that at over 500 miles expose to real air sir, that’s why you’re supposed to leave it in a sealed garage.
That or it was some gammon from the bike versus car thread... “Proposterous that a two wheel chav on benefits with a pocket rocket is faster! Watch this...”
But seriously glad/ lucky no one hurt.

'it appears to have taken off, inverted and landed upside down, rather than merely rolled.'
Using AAIB skills I would suggest that it has, indeed, achieved V1 and rotated (take off) but has failed to achieve V2 (sustained flight speed) and has landed on its tail, thus removing the engine from the gearbox, prior to becoming inverted in the field where it eventually came to rest....... In the light os no evidence of ctasrophic failure, one can only suspect pilot error as the primary cause of this incident.

The old "if in doubt, blame the pilot" procedures are still alive and well, then.......:-)Using AAIB skills I would suggest that it has, indeed, achieved V1 and rotated (take off) but has failed to achieve V2 (sustained flight speed) and has landed on its tail, thus removing the engine from the gearbox, prior to becoming inverted in the field where it eventually came to rest....... The road looks much more narrow than it does on the telly, not much room to sort out a wobble before you end up in the scenery.
Are we making excuses for the crash now? Can I join in? In the third picture, it definitely looks as though the hedge pulled out in front of him.
