Customer Service Rant......Again

I've got no hot water at the moment. I think its an airlock in the system.

So I get on the phone to a plumbing company from Yellow Pages yesterday...around 10am. We'll be there in an hour, they trill. An hour passes. And another. Nowt. So I ring them. Ah yeah, he's stuck on a job, won't be long. So I wait. And wait. I call again. Yeah, he's fitting a new hot water tank, and running late. Shouldn't be long now. So I wait. And wait. I daren't go out or do anything because I might just miss that call. So it gets to 5pm. I call them a third time. Yeah, can we come round tomorrow?

Whats wrong with people these days?

And if anyones near Daventry - know any good plumbers?

I've had that experience literally every time I've ever needed a plumber.

They've got you by the balls and they know it.

...or Builder, or Electrician, or the Windows guys. I'm always suprised when they finally arrive that they've got the balls to look you in the eye.

I've phoned another company now, out of desperation.

Its this house arrest thing I hate.....you daren't do anything.

Worst customer service I ever experienced was from a lancia specialist in reading, and they managed to do it all without me even meeting the guy.

I call asking if they can do a cambelt for me. Person says no problem, ill come out and do it seeing as its unknown age, save you driving the car and risking it breaking. Ill come round on tuesday, about 2.

Tuesday comes and goes with no word and no arrival. I get someone else to do the belt. Get a call not that sunday but the following sunday - hell be there in half an hour to do the belt. I tell him ive got someone else to do it after he didnt turn up and he started shouting down the phone at me accusing me of wasting his time! I was speechless. so i hung up on him.

We arranged for somebody to come round and put new TV aerials in (5 or 6 I think) - we later decided to only have 3 fitted, told the TV aerial man and arranged a day for him to come.

Time off work etc and he doesnt turn up - so he gets a call. He then says that its not with it for him to do so wont be coming at all. Nice.

Join on eof the Home Service things - you pay monthly and they come out at anytime and sort it. Electrics, Plumbing, Heating.

Worth every penny - especially when we had a major leak last Xmas morning....they had a plumber there in 30 minutes.
