According to one of our esteemed PH colleagues, we should all at some point have suffered what can only be described as the pack mentality for a viewpoint expressed here.
) but the comment above got me wondering what threads caused you to question the general friendliness of PH.
I also got a heck load of abuse and grief of a few members when in a relationship thread I described how and why I left my first wife and kids. That did make me angry and proved there are some really spiteful people on this site.
On the flip side when discussing the feelings I have when my lad was diagnosed with cancer just before Xmas really showed how great this environment is and why I use this instead of Facebook etc. (Which reminds me..... I must write an update as we have good news)!!
So... over to you. Where have you been unfairly abused, perhaps fairly abused, and to give some good to the populous, how PH has helped you.
PS.... have been in the sun all day, and with a few beers am feeling quite nostalgic/meloncholic ..... and a little drunk!!

Now my worst was when I said the Dr who was hauled off the United Airlines flight as they wanted his seat for someone else should have obeyed the security staff. Not only in the thread but emails too that are quite insulting. Now I have quite thick skin so it doesn’t matter, I didn’t flounce (much!!! ) but the comment above got me wondering what threads caused you to question the general friendliness of PH. On the flip side though mostly this site is full of knowledgeable people who are happy to try and help and some of the things I read help to rekindle my hope for humanity.

I only found out which account it was when I was sent an abusive email message someone on here. It was the first time but not the last.So no messages for me.
On the flip side, I've received far far more nice messages from people than abusive ones. Including a free item that a PH member I'd never spoken to before sent to me in the post.
I have been on PH since around 2005. Posting on here has got me through some tough times and I'm thankful to those strangers that gave me advice, kicked me up the bottom or even contacted me via email to show concern.
Some threads I have started have ended up with people being nasty, sometimes because they just are, or sometimes because they have not read my original post.
If it's a long one who can blame them but it does puzzle me that so many threads on PH very quickly become slanging matches.
A couple of threads I have had to get the mods to close when people have decided to have a go at my family. I draw the line at that plus sadly it has stopped me from posting on here about serious stuff.

I've had only a couple of members give me a hard time over my opinion or something I've said in a post, never had an insulting email though, and I do try to be as innoffensive as possible. My only gripe here are the grammar nazis and punctuation pedants. Bloody hell, it's like they have never made a grammatical error in their life.
On the flipside I gave another member a TR6 workshop manual and received a very nice email , he also donated some cash to H4H in return. A great and kind gesture.
I've also had a few offers of help from local members, plus not to mention some great money saving advice. When threads turn "shouty" I just don't bother reading them anymore, because at that point they have no value to the forum.

There is no doubt the good far outweighs the bad - my son Jack and his illness thread resulted in us being invited to VMax 200 in March and Jack being an almost 200mph passenger. What an amazing event and what an amazing bunch of people, and our host so apologetic after he crashed his 911 on his sighting run!
The best "good thing" I seem to remember was the organisation of the impromptu car rally for ….. I think it was for the wife of one of us who was extremely ill. They all showed up one morning ……. wonderful. Certainly some of the goodness shown here is quite moving.

I have received lots of help from the PH community, most of it do with my appalling decorating ability, some of it actually to do with cars.
I have actually received a very threatening email during my time writing the Saab Gone? thread all those years ago. And no it wasn't from Victor Mueller!!

I have never once checked to see if I have received emails/PM's from anyone on PH.

t once Never had a threatening email from another member, really must try harder. I have been banned by accident though, I reported one of the many spam threads advertising carpets or bathrooms or kitchens or whatever it was to make it easy to delete by a mod and they deleted my account by accident 
It took a new account and a post in website feedback asking what had happened to get it reinstated again.
Like every realm of life be it a forum or the pub, there’s always some tts, some comedians, some all round top lads and lasses.
