I have been hankering after an S2 Exige for some time now, thing is I am moving out of the City and will have to commute about 25 - 30 miles to work and the same back home, most of this road is excellent country B roads, although there will be the usual jams in the rush hour getting to/from work for about 1/2hr each way.

Is this a comfortable car to using on a daily commute?
Do any of you do this?
Advice and opinions/experiences greatly appreciated.

Yes, the Exige is a comfortable commuter car.

I do a 50 mile round trip into London and back everyday, and the seats look after my a**e just fine!

Furthermore, the car copes equally well with country lanes, motorways and the inevitable long lines of stationary / slow moving traffic once you get closer in to town.

Go and buy one...NOW: you won't regret it.

Hi mudfish, welcome!

I currently commute about 25 miles per day in my Exige S2, soon to go up to 40. A mixture of mostly country lanes and a few dual carriageways. The car is amazing, great on the lanes, very capable in traffic and very comfortable. Just don't bother trying to listen to the radio too much...

I would highly recommend not getting one so mine is rarer!

Don't think I could go balls out for your chosen colour, it wouldn't fit with the rural image of the local village!

How noisey is it at motorway speeds? I haven't been for a test drive yet......

I'm gonna stick my neck on the line and say I don't think it's all that good as an everyday vehicle. It's not bad but I wouldn't class mine as comfortable.....visibility is terrible which is never a good thing in traffic etc and getting in and out without dislocating something or putting your back out is near on impossible.

The back roads do however help make up for some of this!

Don't know how noisy it is at motorway speeds, I'm always going much faster than that!

Take a test drive for a good half hour and see what you think, you'd be amazed at what you can live with when the grin-factor kicks in...

The standard exhaust is very quiet - at motorway speeds or any other...so I changed to a Stage 2 exhaust.

you get used to it - I did 60K miles in 2.5 years in my Series 2 Elise, sometimes carry a weeks worth of luggage...all depends on what you are expecting...make sure you get aircon - the biggest gripe I had with mine is that the aircon option didnt come out until a month after I bought it. On a hot summers day, with shirt/tie on you arrive at work/client dripping with sweat !
