Hi Everyone - I've had the car a couple of days and I'm paranoid about the engine noise when cold.
basically sounds like a bag of spanners until about 40 degreed oil temp.

Probably OK but is this standard?
A couple of other questions -
What oil pressure should I be getting at 2000 ish revs, 60 oil temp?
And how the F*!CK do you release the passenger seat belt - mines stuck and can't be used.

thanks,
sw

to release the belt the car 'likes' to be on a slope with the car tilted so that the seat belt side is lower. Does that make sense??

You could also try pushing the seat back first and then trying to release the seat belt. Formula is: service + 200 miles = rattly engine. Oil pressure at 2000rpm and warm engine about 25psi - seems low but that's the way it is.

Has anyone actually resolved this issue (it's a PITA).

Someone mentioned shortening the belt and modifying the actual mechanism. Anyone does it successfully? Any dealers aware of the fixes?

Mine idles at 20-22psi (750-800 revs) on Mobil 1 under normal driving and falls to about 18 when it's had a thrashing.

I think it's a lot higher than that at 2k revs.
Mine's not too rattley either (even when cold, other than the noise from the belts which never goes away).

Tickover sounds great when warm (almost Subari like, just less rude!).

The "bag of spanners" noise- "they all do that, sir"

The oil pressure- should be about 50 psi when the car is fully warmed and at about 2500-3000 rpm

The seat belt- there is a fix which I posted. It involves cutting some belt off the spool and then putting it back together. It works, but some people are scared to do it in case it wouldn't work properly in a crash.
