Hi all,
I have garaged my Chim for a few years so i could save up enough money to to have it repainted.
The Lacquer has started flaking quite badly and was spreading, so it needs doing.
I know the chassis is not in great shape, so i thought it pointless to get it painted then in a year or two get the chassis done.
So i have decided to take the plunge and get it all done in one hit.
So,
My question is,...

Can anyone recommend anybody to restore my pride and joy to it's former glory ?
The closer to Bracknell / Farnborough the better :-)

Not near to you I'm afraid but I always go and see Adrian and his team at Central TVR for bodywork and interior upgrades and have never been disappointed thumbup

They offer a variety of restoration packages and Adrian is quite flexible on work if you speak to him smile

Hi,

I'm also in Farnborough and had a full chassis refurb carried out on my Griff at TVR101 in Bentley just outside Farnham. They did an absolutely fantastic job, can't fault them.

Southways are in Portsmouth and not too far away. I have not used them personally, but know people who have. They have a good a reputation.

Neil Garner at Kemble has been doing this for years with great results--bit of a distance but in view of the quantity of work involved,
a small price to play for excellent results
He had a complete body off with my car -- great job!!!
See website.

Using someone close is very wise, it means that you pop in to see progress and discuss the work face to face and see any problems first hand. Sure, someone can send you photos and talk to you on the phone but it is not the same as seeing it with your own eyes.

Hi Steve,
I appreciate the offer. Unfortunately it's a 2+ hour round trip.
So It's not exactly convenient. :-(
But i will still call and discuss my options.

Thanks
Steve

I don't think you'll be disappointed with Southways. Or TVR101

If there were a gun to my head I'd probably go Southways but only because of the huge discount I'd get in royalties for my 'gear gaiter' patent biggrin

I'm sure most if not all of the professional people / companies that do this sort of work would do a very good job.
So Price, availability and convenience are almost as important as ability.
I know the price is a tricky area as you can't really put an accurate figure on it until it's finished

The "Gear Gaiter" was confusing ?? so i did a bit of digging and and found your post. smile
