Does anyone have knowledge of what the fuel prices are like in France? It has been said that the weak pound is making fuel go through the roof over here, are we going back to the old days where we will all be filling up as soon as we jump off the ferry? From what I have seen, Diesel is 1 euro 35 this week. Considering not filling up at Pompey now!

He was but is now on his way to the UK

Fuel prices are higher here, supermarkets are €1.5 for petrol and around €1.55 for gazoil.

I would full fill in the uk before leaving as autoroute prices are even more.

I would also expect the price to increase this weekend around the circuit. I have no idea why??????

I’m down the road too.
Not as close to the circuit as Lowdrag but that’s not the point for this query.
The price is volatile at the moment but that’s due to OPEC not the running of the 24 Hours
I paid 1.44 at SuperU Ecommoy on Saturday
The link I provided shows all the prices supermarket, filling station or services.
The services near the circuit are good practically supermarket prices but closer to the circuit than any other outlets.

Just driven back from Spain via France all on Autoroutes and filling with SP98.
Spain was 1.51 euros per ltr.
France was 1.78 euros per ltr.

Around the Mayenne area today, the price for 98 unleaded is around €1.60 per litre. No doubt more on the toll roads. It's definitely gone up a fair bit the past couple of months.

Less worried about the cost and more worried about availability. Comedy is watching us lot desperately hop Shell stations on the way down for V-Power with the delicate combo of low ethanol and high octane in demand for our kit. A 300ml tank makes for a comedy trip.

Currently the route is:
  • Wakefield Shell (day before) for final fill
  • Jct 23 M1 (LE12 9BE) or Leicester Forest East Southbound
  • Jct 11 M20 (CT21 4GH)
  • AUT A 16 AIRE DE LA BAIE DE SOMME, SAILLY FLIBEAUCOURT, 80970 or AUT A 28 AIRE DE MAUCONBLE, BOSC MESNIL, 76680
  • AUT A13, BOSGOUET, 27310 (Rouen)
Then it's 120ml to LM (240ml return) so may have to put half a tank of supermarket 98 in...

Am I the only one who read that as you have a 300 millilitre tank?

Are you going on a lawn mower?

You are not.

It might not be quite as good as Shell but there seems to be better availability of 98 octane fuel in France than in the UK.

A 6 gallon tank is proper commitment on a trip like that yes

Yeah yeah. 300 mile tank. Assume it's 16-20 gal or something. Other 98RON is great, but still got that ethanol content we're trying to avoid. Carrefour has a 98RON pump for those needing it and something built in the last 20yr

Hello ??
The site linked to above lists all the outlets with SP98.
You can put in your journey (trajet) and it will list all the outlets on your route.
There are some Shell outlets but not like UK

Holly high fuel costs Batman. Looking like my SP98 is €1.78 (~£1.56) a litre. That pushes the drive to nearly £300 in fuel alone. Methinks the M20 J11 top off will be even more important. New injectors might push up to 30-31mpg and save what they cost!

That was at £1.48 a litre 2 months ago as pulled in as on 0 miles on clock and then put so little 95 stuff in XF that it ,didn't reset miles to go. Think there are also road works between Ashford and there.

edit TN15 7RR about 40 miles from Folkestone is just off M20 on a short bit of A20 (rejoin M26 just before M26 joins M20)

Was in Normandy a year or so back. The price of Diesel was equivalent of a quid, (1.14?) a ltr, and prices got higher the nearer to Calais you got. Got similar to UK by then..

What are you driving?!

I'm a little concerned about range in the TR6, but each leg is only around 150miles.
