Sag comes over all TVR
Discussion
So service day yesterday..off to Mat Smith, no problems, clean bill of health from the MoT phew.... then
First the main radiator fans stuck on, and when I mean on I mean even without the keys in the ignition! Luckily nothing more than a sticky relay and I had a spare with me in the boot so 2 mins later all fixed thanks to Mat
Then on the way home at quite high speed the main bonnet decides it doesn’t want to be locked in place anymore cue a panicked stop before it came completely loose. The catch on one side had come undone and it needs the slotted torx bit to so tighten, no problem as I carry the bit with me just in case, except somehow when changing the fan relay (and delving around in the little rear compartment that holds the tyre weld plus some spare bits and bobs) we must have mislaid the torx bit. 25 mins of faffing later I came up with a makeshift tool to rotate the catch back in place.
Now hot and bothered and continuing on my way thought I would put on the Air Con and the blower fan failed! Checked fuses and relays etc but all OK. Quick check in my Sagaris bible shows the ‘Heater Amplifier’ is the likely problem, they get to hot and melt the multiplug connector and cause a failed connection. Sure enough removed mine and one of the pins was pretty gunked up with melted black plastic. Cleaned it up and the blower fan is all fixed and working.
Got to love TVR's
