Wouldn't let someone like that in the house to be honest.

Anyone who believes in any kind of Creator is a moron and no topic of conversation is worth bothering with.

Good to have an opinion I guess, personally I think that kind of viewpoint is just as intolerant as the other.

I have distant relatives like that, I've never met them however my mum has and she's stayed with them, she said it was quite eye opening; very welcoming but also very strange.

All topics are safe just be polite, you don't have to agree or change your views.

Let them do the talking, you might learn a thing or two.

The point remains, you cannot prove one way to another. I don’t believe either. But to write people off who do have faith is just as intolerant a position as being a creation fundamentalist.

Why be so polarized?

I see no evidence for a creator in the world today. But wondering what was the prime motive in the Universe does not exclusively belong to science.

Another what?

Why cant you have a polite adult conversation with someone that has different views to you.

I have, there is no need to throw toys out of the pram, If find it quite intersting listening to peoples views from the other side to myself.

Yes, like they are even stupider than you imagined.

Get invited to a BBQ every year by an old rugby mate.

His brother in law is a "flat-earther" and I count down the days to meet him again. If your relative is in any way similar, they will have a stubborn attitude to their beliefs yet a non confrontational conversation. Any undeniable objection given by yourself will be dismissed as a conspiracy theory/designed by the media.

Sadly it is never as explosive nor as uplifting as I think it is going to be as there is no listening to reason.

I'm a massive Trump supporter myself, fancy a chat?

Can I just say. If they are true God fearing Christians and not just nominal, they would neither vote for Trump nor love the NRA. I'm not going to push it down peoples throats but to me believing that the whole world just came about by accident sounds crazy. You are entitled to believe what ever you like.
Just treat them like you would anyone normally but perhaps be a bit more sensitive if you usually curse and avoid talking about things they might get offended about. But at the end of the day its your house and I'm sure they are well used to opposing views.

Just say to them in a broad accent "I like both types of music...Country and Western".

They'll love you for it.

Just because they're phenomenally stupid, doesn't mean you cant learn something from them, even if it is simply how not to act like them. Some people exist just to be warnings to others.

They'd probably welcome it for at least people who have read it have shown an interest in religion (or more to the point the lack of it) rather than never thinking about it.

Or was your thought that a) the uptight Christian would get so offended they'd leave or b) read it and immediately become an atheist because they've never encountered atheist thought before (I mean obviously, they're only Christians because no one has explained how stupid they are).

In any case, if you're looking to really challenge a Christian, talk about Dawkins' book "The Selfish Gene". Far better than his later rants IMO.

Just ask them "What gun would Jesus choose?".

(bet it's one of those assault rifles)
