Golf gti or John Cooper works
Discussion
I went from a 210bhp R53 JCW to a 300bhp Golf R. The first had a value of circa £4,000, the second £30,000. If practicality was not an issue I'd always pick the MINI. It was soooooo much more fun than the Golf.
The Golf was brilliant, it was an everyday car most of the time, but would provide brutal acceleration occasionally, but it was never "fun". It was composed, relaxed, comfortable, etc. The MINI was "fun" irrespective of the time or conditions. It was a giggle. Unfortunately despite my wife having the family car I still need to carry 3 sets of golf clubs in my car, plus kids, so I require a modicum of practicality. I will have a JCW again, I promise.

The new JCW is a Turbo not a Supercharger, same with the Cooper S think it has been for a few years now!
Yes, hence asking.Friend of mine has the supercharged jcw and it was an absolute hoot even from the passenger seat, the rate it hauled itself forwards almost defied physics, 0-60 was impressive, but the get up and go through first was on another planet, with the sound track to go with. 0-100 was also fairly impressive.
In the end he had to swap it as at 6ft4ish he couldn't get comfortable enough for long drives, I was gutted.
