Hi all, looking at both of these to buy outright. Might need my head testing tbh. I've had a couple of jags and never had any real issues. Never had a Maserati. Price wise they are in the same ball park.

Any input appreciated. I'm leaning to the GT as the rear seats are, well actually rear seats. But Italian 😳

It really depends on what price point you're talking about.

Then yes I can recommend the Maserati it's a great car that puts a smile on your face just on start up, they're not to bad maintenance wise, you need to workout if you spend a lot of time in towns with stop start traffic then you need to go for the full auto rather than the MC Shift version.

Jaguar wise you could land a XKR-S for your budget which is a very capable car.

What a tough choice.

Mazza would be a wonderful car but I dont think I could say no to a light blue XKR-S and seeing as though you are moving in round the corner from me I know what I would rather see on the local roads.....

You need to go and purchase the blue Jag.

hehe I think I had better get into the new house first. If I don't leave enough for the extension we're planning I'll be sleeping in the garage.

At least you'll be able to snuggle up to an XKR-S though....

I went to see the Alexander's car on Tuesday. It's a lot more shouty in the flesh. Sadly not in a position to do anything for 2 months. Few issues with it which to be fair they said would all be dealt with.

They have some serious cars in their showroom. Seemed nice and genuine too.

Only niggle for me are the rear seats. Always tight I know. With the RS fronts the rears are unusable.

If you want useable rear seats then it has to be the Maserati.

By way of a bit of an update. I've been to see 3 XKRS' now. I've decided on the Jag rather than the Mazza and in French Racing Blue. Sod the rear seats. Then I stumbled across this

Would you consider or still go down the sod the rear seat route?

Thanks, could I ask why? same engine, 5 seats, same colour, same performance. I'm leaning in the same direction but undecided

XK all day long, Xf is a bit too much of a vanilla saloon, even in bright blue. XK will always be that little bit more special

Just find the XKRS a much nicer shape and personally prefer coupes. Plus XFRS look very much like their lesser cousins and disappear in traffic.

Thought I would update this thread. Well, after nearly a year of viewing various XKR-S's and finding most of them not to be as immaculate as I would like, my patience finally paid dividends. I have today placed a deposit on the following car. Ready to collect next week or they will store as I am due to move house at the end of the month. bounce
