Afternoon,

I have a 2015 jag with 10k miles on it. It's black and quite shiny when I polish it.

I wondered if it was worth claying it before I polish it after it's next wash (tomorrow).. Am I likely to induce swirls?

Thanks

D

Yes and no.

Go to coarse you could get swirls but on a light clay and do it in straight lines it should be ok.

You will always get swirls on a car when you clay it.
I do not clay without polishing (or expecting to have to polish).

I worked as a detailer for many years combined with prior and subsequent private jobs etc.

As above, always machine polish after clay.

Even if it's something like SRP, lime prime or a finish polish on a light cut pad.

Black cars are a mare for this, they will show up marring really well.

You could go the glare system and hise everything mind.
