Samsung TV Performance
Discussion
I've got a 2/3yrs old Samsung Series 6 flat screen tv, UHD model with smart features and no curved screen or 3d just that which is what i wanted.
I recently moved into my own house and have gone from sky/virgin to freeview, and i've noticed that using the tv guide and the responsiveness at times is pretty poor. It will take a number of seconds after switch on to open tv guide for example, the show in information will be wrong but once i am in say netflix or the youtube app i don't seem to have any issues
I was wondering if it is down to number of apps on the TV that I have installed, as in low memory might impact the performance but seems to be only in the one area.
I was going to stick a HDD on the TV to record some stuff occasionally but now this is making me think again, anyone else had this sort of probably and come across the reason or a work around?

When you are in Youtube or Netflix the set is doing a lookup over your internet connection, the Freeview guide will be a periodic broadcast over the TV system. I don't know for sure, however it is quite possible that internet connected Virgin and Sky boxes can get the epg that way as well.
Signal on freeview is generally ok so not sure if it has anything to do with it and not using a signal booster, 4k Netflix is ok on my pretty poor 10mbit but app has to run and decode the signal
First time I've used freeview as not paying sky prices and no virgin, it's not a major problem just a tad annoying sometimes
