Not that I'm any expert but these things seem to come down to

Plugs
Extenders
Ht leads
Coil
Amp
Dizzy cap
Rotor arm

Sounds like you also have the hot start problem on top of the misfire issues

Amplifier, module on the side of the dizzy i think. All genuine parts? Lots of trouble with non genuine stuff.

Should add, I'm lucky enough to have a digital ignition system installed by the previous owner so i speak from reading others woes not personal experience.

Your intitial problem sounds like the starter motor side of immobiliser which is common when hot. Contact CHIMP ON GAS for instructions how to bypass. You need to check the basics of electrical supply to plugs etc incl fuel at fuel rail.
Check
ign Amp
Coil
Dist cap
Rotor arm
King lead,,,( do this first)
Plug leads + extenders
Remove plug or plugs to try for a spark and colour.
If they are wet you should be getting fuel.
And any other electrical connections that are related.

Fuel pump connections at the back of the car.
How old is the fuel filter etc
Hope some of that helps.

Either that or we are both way off the mark wink
I too no longer suffer these issues but I always like to try and still understand the CUX for some reason.
These threads do remind me of the pain in the arse these bugs inflict so if one can help a little smile

One of the best descriptions of how the CUX works that I read was the ECUMATE manual. I think you can still download it and makes for a very interesting read. Really useful.

I had this once, it was the fuel temp sensor giving a completely duff reading causing the car to run very lean, pre cat model.

Symptoms were hard to start when hot backfiring when hot and exhaust note was harsher than normal.

Thanks for your comments my mate who is a mechanic found the reason why I broke down and the car was missing it was the rotor arm shorting out so happy days got the car home this afternoon. Still got the problem on starting when hot though got it home switched it off tried to start and nothing left the car about half a hour and started fine I think it has got a midsize hot start kit on it .any help would be great starting to do my head in now.
