2010 R8 nav update?

Looking at updating the map data on the 2010 R8 I've just got into, appears to still be on 2010 data - a quick Google suggests it's just a DVD pack for €180 or so. Can anyone confirm if the update will provide full postcode search? when I tried the nav on collection day it seemed to be only partial postcode. Seem to recall Porsche did a PCM map update a few years ago on 997.2s that took them from partial to full postcode so wondering if Audi updates did/do similar...

Yes it's just a DVD to get the later data and postcode search facility.

To save me trawling through the manual, what's the update method?

Also, what data can you put in the SD card slots?

Just pop the dvd in the slot and follow on screen instructions. Very straight forward.
I use the sd cards for my music playlist. Not sure what if anything you can do otherwise with them.
