E90 LCI boot stuck shut, reverse/rear fog light warnings
Discussion
Seems like some electrical fault.
The boot is locked and does not unlock with the fob. There is also no noise of unlocking. Luckily I can gain access from folding seats as there is no lock/manual unlock. idrive also annoyingly continually bongs stating boot is open?? Also bongs for light and reverse light warnings on idrive.
Excess on my warranty is £250 so will get a quote from my local garage before taking that up.
Anyone got any idea what exactly may be wrong? Thanks

Always with any BMW, check battery health/voltage. If it has been replaced recently, was the battery coded in? These batteries need coding when replacing.
This is a boot lid, which is slammed shut. It could also have a leak too. The reverse/rear fog lights are specifically on the boot lid, so it sounds like it could be an issue with the wiring in the boot lid only. Connections need to be checked as slamming the boot can make it come loose. The latch on our C1 dislodged when someone slammed it too hard, so worth checking that first. Otherwise, replacement of the rear wiring loom is necessary.
A generation of 3 series estates had leaky boots, which could cause these issues. I'd have the boot checked for leaks.

BMW have a common problem with managing the wiring between bootlids and the body (the E61 is notorious for it). In short, all the opening and shutting eventually leads to the wires between bootlid and body breaking. The symptoms the OP is getting are almost certainly from the wiring failing - no power to the lock or the opening button, failed lighting on the bootlid, failed wiring to the closed sensor etc.
