Recently took delivery and had asked them to remove the Swissvax from my order. On collection it was on the invoice with an equivalent discount and the SE told me they'd done it anyway.

Does anyone know whats supposed to be in the aftercare kit she said they'd send? I haven't received mine yet, but guess since its been waxed I should use a PH neutral shampoo to avoid stripping the wax. Which probably means washing it myself (we'll see how long that lasts) and buying mitt/etc.

Ditto. Exactly the same for me with a car I picked up a week ago.

I've been told that the pack can be collected when I return for some work that's got to done shortly.

My guess it's either a freebie form Porsche GB, or else the OPC earns a sizable bonus on each treatment sold.

Thanks. Given it appears I'm not the only one, perhaps theres some commission/bonus which means its better to give a discount then actually remove the swissvax. I've got a weird bluetooth drop out issue, so might need to pop in, will query if I can pickup the pack then.

Wouldn't you want to wash the car yourself using a decent shampoo anyway?

Not always smile

Usually I'll just accept the inferior, but more convenient option of a £10-£15 hand wash.

Dont take it to your local hand car wash they will trash the paintwork and cover the car in swirl marks.

I never understand people paying £££££ for a car to then skimp on cleaning regime.

If you are time poor or dont have the inclination, my suggestion is find a local mobile valeter who is pashionate about cars and get them to clean at your conveinience at home or work. They will have products to keep it in tip top shape. Once or twice a year have it mega cleaned (clay bar, machine polish and wax protection). It will cost more but they will look after your car properly.

Just my 0.02p worth.

I think most are not skimping on the cleaning regime due to cost, but rather convenience. Even compared to a mobile valet service, a hand car wash is more convenient (drop in whenever you have a minute, rather then pre-book).

Also some of us aren't as fastidious about the outer appearance. Oddly i'm quite OCD about many things, but subconsciously I think I've realised the cars always going to be dirty and decided not to apply my OCD's there biggrin

But perhaps the OPC have done me a favour and its time to change my ways smile I'm thinking about getting a foam lance and some Bilt Hamber, already have a K5 pressure washer. But i'm sure my enthusiasm wont last into winter so can anyone recommend me a mobile Valet near Denham or Heathrow?
