Posted in TZ, but no joy there yet with replies.

After a recent and ever so slight flurry of buying watches, I’m after a watch box to store them in. I don’t want anything too ornate and I’m not a fan of the “piano black lacquer” type and would prefer a lightish plain wood (birch or similar).

I’ve probably got about 20+ watches all told, some with full B&P, some just watch only. Nothing exotic or valuable. Some of the watch boxes are fairly chunky, so I’ll keep hold of them all together in a box in the loft, so the watch box would just be for watches. I’m not too bothered about a display top and ideally, something “two tier”, with perhaps a drawer or divided tray as well at the bottom for other bits (cuff links, collar stays, straps, strap tools etc).

I’ve no idea of budget or even where to start Googling. Any suggestions?

Suggest you change your thread title;

“Which watch for Rolex GMTc?”

You will get plenty of responses

You may need to clarify your budget thoughts.

Below that! More towards the Lidl/Aldi teabag box end of the range... I don’t know, really. Couple of hundred quid, tops, I guess.

Have you looked at Etsy?

I doubt you will find a box for 20 watches, but I am sure one of the makers of things on there would be able to do you a custom jobby for a decent price.

Maybe

Antiques places? I picked up a lovely one from one for £40. Four winding slots, six non-winding...

I keep mine in between a collection of about 200 video cassettes stored in the 'hat box' area of the built in wardrobe's in a box set of video's 'hollowed' out to accept a watch each

That way if I'm burgled the thief's have to empty every video and check that there is actual tape inside...!
Of course you could just make it easy for the bds and leave a set of 10~20 watches on display on the bed side table smile

Having to rethink this a bit after some Googling/Amazon/eBay.

I’m veering away from anything “display” like, I just want something I can store my actual watches in (probably on those round cushion things) to keep them all in one place. It’s storage, not display. I still want to be able to keep a few extra bits (cuff links, collar stays, spare straps, etc) in there too and I’ll box up the boxes/papers separately and stick them in the attic.

The Lidl/Aldi teabag boxes are looking more and more like a solution!

I bought a second Wolf watch box over the weekend. The first one was a bit more basic but one I just bought has a draw in the bottom with spaces designed for spare straps, cufflinks, rings and so on:
