My wife has a 64 plate (MY15) Evoque that she’s had from new. The Sat Nav is not the best, routings usually the longest and most random way possible which I guess, being an LR product, means it’s working perfectly.
However, would an update to the latest maps potentially help resolve this? If so wheres the best/cheapest place to get these (either CD or USB I guess)? LR want an absolute fortune to update the maps and we could buy 3 brand new Tom Toms and still have change.
Do updates like this also resolve prior route calculation issues?

Have you checked all the route settings as they can make quite a difference. There is even one called 'Easy Route' that makes a huge difference.

From Route options in the Nav menu, Easy route can be switched On or Off.

When On is selected, Easy route changes the calculation parameters of Route 3 in order to reduce:

Junctions.

Turns.

Turns that cross traffic.

The priority of minor roads.

Complex junctions and manoeuvres.

Thank you - I'll try experimenting with that.
