No, it isn't based on that film (which is a beautiful fake by the way - everything is speeded up and the actual car was a Mercedes with a Ferrari sound track added) but a protest against emission controls on old cars. I've done it once and may do it again depending on the weather. It isn't the best time of year for an open car!

LD, I don't think that "Rendezvous" is speeded up - people walking appear from time to time and move perfectly normally. The soundtrack is, allegedly, a Ferrari dubbed in, but the car was a 7 litre 450SEL Merc, no slouch!

Yes, I believed it at first but if you do an internet search there is someone who walked the route and measured every part and then worked out the speed from the time it took in the film. From memory his conclusion was 80 kph average.
