Has anyone got any experience of this stuff? Does it cost much, does it need a specialist to apply it, is it effective and does it stand out? Your comments greatly appreciated as I just don't want the front to become covered in stone chips. Also how much does the average front end respray cost? Is it less than the cost of Armourfend?
I have this on the chimaera, and can say the only part of the bonet that has no stone chip's is the armourfended bit, It will protect the paint underneath.
Now the downsid, you can see a clearly defined edge where it stops and the unprotected paint begins, this is a bitch for catching the white powdery residue from waxes.
Don't know what it cost as it was there allready, I think, maybe around £900. Don't wory you get the backs of the mirrors done aswell for that money,,,. I have seen kits available for sports bikes, though it is not realy the sort of thing to try at home. Well not the sort of thing Iwould try at home.

I fitted all the front end parts they stock after I changed the lights & had it re-spayed. Just the paint job with a 3 stage pearl was well over 1K, so we wanted it protecting!
It wasn’t easy to fit by my self, didn’t help that I was on the street in a slight breeze that kept blowing the sheets out of my hand & little bits of muck on to the sticky side. If you have ever tried to apply window tinting film, it’s the same idea but much harder as the front of the cerb is very curvy. In a garage with two people on a hot day (makes the stuff much more stretchy) it would be ok to fit.
You only need the: Bonnet £67.50, Headlight Surronds £50 & Lower Skirt £67.50. So it doesn’t cost too much. The inner wheel arches are worth it if you’ve had a full re-spay & the Headlights (Pair) £20.00 are good to protect the lamp glass. The others seem to be waste of time to me.
The ironic thing is that Armourfend is a lot less noticeable on lighter coloured cars than darker – just the same a stone chips

Simon, I'd suggest going to one of the meets at the Bulls haed (Third Sunday of the month) & having a look at some that have been done, It's not my cup of tea, but each to their own.
I've had a complete respray at Ewelme, and as they pointed out "you'll probably have stone chips by the time you get to B'ham"
The example of armourfend I saw was poor, like somebody had forgot to remove the film that protects your screen on a new mobile.

Perhaps some colours make the Armourfend more visible than others like dirt shows on some more than others.
Yes, I think you'd be right there, just looked at your profile - nice
If I were you I'd have a look at a black one with Armourfend before you make a decision. Or just get the bonnet piece, which does stand out the worst & slap it on, as it's one of the easiest to fit & see what you think. It is meant to come off easily if you don’t like it. (You’d need to leave it for a bit as it does smooth out after a day or two). Gassing Station | Cerbera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
