Best £10k Estate - Auto

Looking for a 2nd hand Auto estate with 600litres+ boot space with seats up
Currently got a Passat Alltrack lease that I need to hand back but hoping buying second hand may work out cheaper.
Preference is for Auto.
Wanting a low maintainence, reliable, cheap to run car.
Looking Skoda Octavia & Superb Estate
What else do you think would be smart to consider.
cheers

- 600+ litres boot space seats up | 680 litres with the seats up
- Auto | Auto available
- Low mantainence | Pretty solid
- Reliable | Fairly reliable - V6 and CDTi models have no HGF issues / late-90s BMW electronics otherwise / M47R diesel has no swirl flaps
- Cheap to run | They can be picked up for hundreds rather than thousands and provided it's been cared for (fairly likely) it should give you plenty of trouble-free miles
- Late-90s BMW electronics are upgradeable (Bluetooth, DAB etc.)
- Knowledgeable and helpful owners club, too...

thanks for the idea - but boot space with seats up is on 442litresBest all round car I have owned is the S212 Mercedes E350 petrol.
3.5 litre and 306hp so always feels quick enough, averaged 30mpg and 35mpg on a run without thinking, which was 10% behind the 350cdi it replaced.
Massive load space, 7 seats, comfier than my 5 series and actually not far behind for dynamics either, dates pretty well too imho.
I seriously considered and alltrack when the great lease deals hit, however, after taking one out I soon knocked that idea on the head. The Merc just feels a completely different class of car, you would love it I reckon.
The 350cdi is also nice, but make sure a sport and not an Avantgarde, the steering on the sport is so much nicer.
Given the choice of petrol vs diesel on these there is no reason whatsoever to go diesel, apart from the fact the UK only sold 8 of the petrols compared with the thousands of diesels so you simply won't find one.
I have had the last 3 models of A6 avant, always quattro, the E39 530d and 530i, the E61 in 535d, lci 530d and the F11, also had the S210 E320 estate, the S211 E320cdi estate, the S212 E350cdi and the S212 E350, and the S212 Merc is without doubt my favourite as an all round car.
Not knocking any of the others, all nice, and I would happily have a 535i or 550i F11, and still own a 530d E61, which in many ways I prefer to the F11 as it feels rawer, but the Merc just does everything, and not many cars can claim that.
If you are genuinely happy with a 4cyl diesel the E250 or E220 cdi are great choices too.

Ended up getting an Octavia Estate 1.6d SEL DSG for £10k just under 3years old.
Definitely a step down in size, spec, luxury from the Passat Alltrack - but its a cheaper car.
Hopefully this should work out cheaper than leasing if I can keep it 3or4 years with no major bills.
Seriously would have sought a Superb...defo and better replacement ..Better equipped and huge. Definitely a step down in size, spec, luxury from the Passat Alltrack - but its a cheaper car.
