Commercial or ?????
Discussion
Depends on the variant & its type approval.
M1 is not.
N1 is.

Run a reg on https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ViewVehicle & see what type approval it is. Older ones may not show type approval.

What bodies are they? Station wagons, definitely not commercial. Panel van sides or pickup, very likely to be commercial.End of the day, it comes down to the beneficiary for the covenant enforcing it. I'd guess it's a newish-build estate? So the beneficiary will be the developer. If they've finished building and selling on the estate, then it's massively unlikely they'll give a toss.
Is the case of "speed limit applicability to Land-Rover and shooting brake vehicles" pertinent?
I believe the ruling in brief was that Land-Rovers were classed as "dual purpose" vehicles and thus not considered to be commercial if they didn't carry "for hire or reward".

We bought a new 110 12 seater station wagon in 1994 and had to fit a winch to it to persuade HMRC it was a commercial vehicle so we could claim the VAT back. It was classed as a commercial on the logbook. Gassing Station | Land Rover | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
