lactose intolerance
Discussion
I get very bad tummy rubbling from milk bread lager etc. If I buy the "free" range of products I dont get it. I went to the doctor they said they would run some tests, nothing came back. I said so where do we go from here? He said we dont you are fine.
Anyone take anything for this, gaviscon or the like? I try to buy "free" based products but not always practical all the time. How do others manage this?

Free range is expensive, more of a "luxury".
Try mozzarella for cheese and I avoid milk, alternatives are too expensive for me.
Try going wheat free and see how you go but you'll need to check ingredients, it's in everything even chips.....
I stick to meat, potatoes/chips, veg and gluten free pasta currently.
If you find you're feeling better in general then try introducing the foods that were setting you off, see which ones cause it and cut them out.
I still binge on pizza occasionally though and pay the price

food & lactose etc intolerances are complex and hard to test for , then you can be just sensitive to it that wont show up on any tests
Personally its sometimes obvious if your body doesn't like something
I ditched milk as a teenager, it gave me cramps, I still eat it as an ingredient but never on its own or in coffee . I just use Oat milk in cereal
Larger also seems to give me eczema so I avoid it a lot
My youngest daughter is the same, she did so much better once she ditched milk

Pretty sure I'm not allergic to those products, but I feel very much better when I avoid them.
I used to consume a lot of dairy, be it milk or cheese and was never nauseous or anything, but when I quit I felt so much better. Same with bread and other grain products. Don't think they were doing any harm as such.
