Low cost method to take CC payments over phone

As part of a new business we are looking to take CC bookings by telephone and looking at an easy platform to do so.

We had looked at Square but it appears we cannot add VAT that route so it doesn't really do what we need.

Any other recommendations as to what platforms make it easy and cheap for a business to take card payments by phone?

i use barclaycard. i use it rarely.
its expensive. cost me about £20 in fees to process a recent £400 payment.
i'll be watching this thread to see if any other providers come up good.

ps. half the fees for barclaycard are processing costs. the other are for use of a various platform - which is hideous to use. very difficult as i only use it once every 1 to 2 months.
plus there is a monthly standing fee of £3.

Sage have a virtual terminal that's alright IME.
