Yippeee! New Battery

It's nice when things go right. After all the horror stories I'd heard about what a b*****d of a job it is to change the battery, it actually took less than an hour. I was preparing myself to make a call to the local arms dealer for some cemtex to remove it and another call to Arnold Sphinctanegger for the fitting of the replacement. Just remember to make some alignment marks on the tray before withdrawing it (as Stevie H says in his good book).
I've heard that some batteries of the correct rating don't quite fit into the tray: I fitted a Bosch which came with a three year warranty and cost £49.94 inc and supplied by Europarts. It's a perfect fit! The terminals are 'about-face' to the previous installed item but all that was required was for me to turn the battery through 180 and fit the retaining cover to the front of tray as opposed to the rear.
The old lump of a motor is crankin' over like a gooden' now and my injectors are as pleased as punch at gettin' a good fat 12V.
Chuffed to bits; think I'll crack a bottle of summat nice now and sit down to watch Dr Who in the hope that in this episode I'll get to see Billie Piper in her pants!

The part number on the invoice is 412770090. Whoever it is that provides your Bosch, they should have the Bosch catalogue and the Griff is within its pages: 74 amp and 630 crank rating. It's a 'so-called' maintenance free item so you don't need to be checking the electrolite level with a torch and mirror once a month.
