Mute button for members?

HI Mods

I am sure this has been asked before but am feeling too lazy to spend an hour using the search to find it (sorry)

Is there any way or plan to introduce a button where you can mute posts from other forum members?

I do try to remember which posters not to respond to but am a bit of a goldfish. It would probably also improve everyones lives as threads would not get so clogged up with people arguing over and over about the same stuff.

Certain forum members have a habit of being nothing but abusive and or offensive and although people are entitled to make offensive and abusive posts IMO I don't much care and see little reason to report them to you mods when i could simply mute comments from them rather than having to resist the temptation to respond in kind.

These are the most recent threads on the same / similar subject going back the last year in WF - May, or may not, be of use.

From memory at least 1 of them features a couple of posters that created some custom coding that you fiddle with in your own browser script, etc, to enable you to make background changes / block posts from users (if you can really be bothered, have time to kill, etc).

But from the PH / HM side of things, previous threads on here have indicated very clearly that HM aren't spending any more time / money / development on the forum, so basically what you've got now is what's here for the forseeable future.

And in line with any current dev work, not in the distant future either.
