Head Shavers

Can anybody recommend a decent head shaver? I'm getting bored of visiting the barber's every week and would prefer to do it myself at home. However it needs to be with something quick and clean.

Just use your razor, start at the chin and keep on going till you reach the back of your head.

i do mine with standard babyliss clippers tbh, never bought anything fancy, usually get about 3-5 years out of a set and i'm rubbish at oiling them etc.

most sets come with a decent array of clipper grades, and you can pick up other ones online.

Same here with clippers. Just buy a cheap set and don’t put any guards on gives a close cut unless you wanted the really smooth look. Just do mine every couple of weeks.

I got this and it is spot on. Cheap, lasts a fair while on a full charge and has so many attachments. Well worth it.

I use similar, do head and face with mine once or twice a week with no attachments £20 in a sale around 4 years ago and fully charged will last around 2 months, little drop of 3in1 oil before every use, saved me a fortune

I just use one of these in the shower.
Depends how short you want it but .4mm does me. Works fine in the shower so no mess & cheap!

I had a Nicky Clarke one bought as a gift around 2003, I use a number 1 size comb with it weekly, still giving good service.

This is true - sharp, solid, quality build. Got mine for about £30 a few years ago.

Saying that... I don't use it anymore! I razor every couple of days with a Boots 3-blade. I found that once I started shaving my head - over 10 years ago - I kept going shorter and shorter... closer combs... no combs... razor!

Full Turkish head and face hot towel shave

Else I use my Whal clippers no guard on short setting every Sunday and Wednesday night

I’ve just bought babyliss super crew cut ,they’re the ones with the circular blade , really quick to use and easy to get an even cut. Pricey but worth it.

I dont like wet shaves - I'm just too lazy. The electric razor options just seem less hassle and the waterproof options seem ideal (something I can whizz around my head in the shower first thing in the morning) The rotary heads also seem suitable given the shape of my skull

I think I'll try the philishave and see how I get on

So did I, maybe earlier. They got pinched by a friend and I got a Wahl set I used up till last year. Used Bics when I fancied it smooth, but it's a bit dangerous for me.

These days I'm rocking the full head of hair look. Some of my friends actually thought I was bald, it's been so long since they'd seen me with hair.

Nope

I bought the Philishave and it was ok but I thought I’d give wet shaves a try and bugger me if the “PH Cognoscenti” weren’t correct. It’s a doddle, takes 5 minutes once a week.

I have one of these, 10 minutes in the shower with a No. 1 beard trimmer for what little hair I have left job done.
