H1Z1 (PS4)

Is anyone else playing this? Essentially a PUBG-lite however it's the best/closest things available on the PS4 (outside of Fortnite) and it's free to download and play. I had seen a few streams and kinda dismissed it the graphics aren't great (calling them last gen would be generous) and it appeared a lot more arcadey that PUBG (weapons come with fixed attachments/firemode/can't be modified. However I downloaded and played it last night and I'm pretty much hooked! I only got a few kills in the whole 5+ hours that I played, however I did manage to get to top 6 on my very first match, and followed up with a 3rd and a 2nd as well, although plenty of early finishes too.

So yeah, it doesn't look great but game play wise there is a lot to enjoy here. Couldn't see a thread for this, so thought it might be worth starting one if anyone was interested.

I'm not sure if PS4 is behind or you've missed the boat, as this was played heavily around 3 years ago, way before PUBG. It may be because I was on PC, but it was popular back then and has died out due to the new releases - so you may struggle to find people still playing it

Yea I know H1Z1 is the OG battle royale shooter and than Brendan Greene was originally behind it; but from what I understand the latest version is new from the ground up and specifically designed for PS4. They’ve been pushing it for the last few months; it’s still in open beta, but it’s good fun.

Ah ok, sorry fair enough. I didn't realise they had re-released for PS4.

I downlaoded it a couople of weeks back, had two games and lost interest. I know it's in Beta but the graphics are shocking for 2018 and the controls are even worse, really cluncky and not linear at all! I think what makes the graphics seem even worse is the complete lack of colour, everything is so monotone, grey and miserable!

Sadly i cant see it getting off the ground and it'll probably die a death as other companies beat them to it bringing out better games, battle royale games are about to go mental with loads of new games due out in the near future!
