Just got my gorgeous beast back from the 1,000 mile service! All the little niggles fixed, although I seem to have acquired some new ones.... oh well, such is life

Now the manual says i need to gradually wind up for the next 1000 miles to maximum revs... anyone know what this actually is? Also, my dealer says there is no rev limiter but i've read people on here saying there is... anyone got a definitive answer?

Cheers

dicky

I was told to increase by 500rpm each ioo miles, so by the time another 1000 miles is done you'll be flying. Enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I've hit it a couple of times, will keep an eye on the revs I'm doing next time.

Spenny,

My Tamora is due back from TMS on Thursday/Friday after the 1000 mile service and problem sorting, (which has taken them nearly three weeks ).

What 'new' problems has your car returned with?

Regularly popping out of fifth gear by itself on the motorway is the most annoying one! Back to the dealer for that one I think

Spenny - try this - when I took mine in for it's thousand miler, it kept jumping out of 2nd. The simple reason was that they had taken the gear lever surround trim off,(the big panel on top of the transmission tunnel) and not seated it back on correctly, so the lever went in, but not fully. It may be the same with yours - try taking out the ashtray, and feel in the hole for a little butterfly nut, loosen it and push the trim panel forward a bit, then re-fasten. That might save a trip to the dealer.

Surely by the 1000 mile service you are up to at least 4k revs? So upping it anouther 500 every 100 miles will mean you hit 9000 revs ! Wow!

I think that's what dicky meant by flying!
