Hi guys,

So we have decided the W. Mids might not be for us.

I'm a IT/Finance Contractor. Missus is a Business Analyst on Robotics in Manufacturing.

Anyway, I want to leave for a better quality life nearer the countryside so Breaston is pretty much top of the list. Also in terms of support family folks will be five minutes away for the kids.

Having lived in London and on the outskirts it is out the question, to far north fewer jobs maybe?

The key driver is the schools and the support we will have for the kids.

In terms of Interim work and employment anyone have experience or Insight? I reckon my search radius will need to widen. However, Derby, Notts and Leicester are close. Bham is around an hour away so not to bad.

Your wife might have some success up the m1 in Sheffield. There's an advanced manufacturing park with Rolls Royce, Boeing and Mclaren plus others.

Plenty of finance companies in the area, particularly Nottingham and Leicester.

Rolls Royce in Derby too.

As suggested. Rolls Royce in derby. Fair bit of finance around the East Midlands (Experian and cap one in Notts) and if you are prepared for the drive then sheffield has a fair few modern companies. Hsbc being one example.

Within Derby/ Notts/ Leicester you also have 5 universities for employment opportunities too.

NTU are growing their robotics departments as well. If you head further south (Coventry) theres a few robotics places at Ansty Park.

You can forget Rolls Royce for IT contracting/BA due to recent events.

Are yolu dead set on Derbyshire? Have you considered Warwickshire -> JLR/Aston?
