Guys
I got back into wot after a couple of years off I got hooked on it again and found myself playing it every day for hours on end.
It is a very addictive game like so many others so please make sure you don`t end up like me playing it morning noon and night.

I had this too, I had to go completely cold turkey with it. I found I was always trying to improve my WN7 by putting in effective performances, but I had to do a lot with 18k battles under my belt to raise my stats. stay away from Noobmeter etc. and find something else to get into (I switched to Planetside 2).

I went cold turkey for about 6 months but have come back, much more chilled now although the personal mission HT12 for t55a is doing my head in (block 3x hit points and do 2k dmg).

Once I do the last 3 HT missions for t55a I'll be able to get the object 260 as I'll free up the free pass card things!

Went off the game for a couple of years and just watched people playing on Twitch however after a new pc build started playing again.
Now only play a handful of tanks that I enjoy playing and not trying to progress into other tanks etc and that way I find I am not so much into the game as I was before so can easily go a few days without playing.

I used to play it a lot, but gave up about 3-4 years ago. I think the introduction of Japanese heavies was the the last straw for me, although I couldn't take the general BS & standard of play anymore either. I used Armored Warfare PvE mode to help break the habit. I can't face PvP in any game any more.

While I will still watch it on Twitch sometimes, I think like most people, I won't be playing it again while artillery is still in the game. So never then.

Same here, when I do play it's just 'World of Sherman variants', I've given up on progression.
I still do the same on WarThunder, but the economy in that game practically forces you into 1 game per nation per day without a premium account.

I've no idea how anyone has the patience to play WOT these days. It's just become pay to win with all the super heavies everywhere that you've got no choice but to spam gold at.

I say bring back the old days from 5+ years ago with the (original) T18, SU-85B that you could get nearly 500m view range on, original Hellcat, T50-2. Could always guarantee fun lower tier games playing any of those, especially as the maps actually had an abundance of bushes to hide in, not like the golf course maps they have today.

I've even got a BT-SV sat in my garage collecting dust.

I too haven't played WoT for quite some time, and there have been a horde of changes since I last played. I don't recognise a lot of the maps, or struggle to work out where I am on them, due to how much they have been reworked. I've got no idea how the missions work, so haven't been bothering with them, and then there's a load of different lines that have now been added.

I thought I'd go back to the beginning and have set myself the task of Eliting all the tanks starting from Tier 1. Obviously a lot of them are already Elite, but I have had to re-purchase some those, as a new tank has been added next in line which I now need to research. Some seem to have different modules available now that need researching, and of course there are those that I never Elited in the first place, or have been added since I last played the game.

So far I have Elited all the Tier 1s and 2s and am making a start on the 3s. I've no idea how far I will get before I become bored/disillusioned again, but it's been fun so far.

Just started on PC after dabbling on and off since the beginning. I've only played about 300 matches and it seems every player in every game has a minimum of 1k matches. It really isnt a game for beginners.
The missions are nice extras but you can only work through all those with high tier tanks. For the average player tier 4 5 and 6 seem to be the sweet spot. Also trying to Elite all tanks is a complete waste of time and money. Just stick to a few tanks you like. Even the pros like Quickybaby say the unlocks for the top tanks are only accessible by the top 1% of players and unbalance the game even more. The same with stats, they really dont mean anything and once you have many 1000s of games under your belt they arent really changing anytime soon.
I like playing to see an improvement in my play and actually make a difference in victories. I'm grinding the IS and will stop worrying about tiers once I get the IS-3. I just dont have the time or the gold to ever get a tier IX or X.
My PC username is TheJ4ckal if anyone wants to platoon up. I'm no expert but I'm not an idiot and can take strategy guidance over voice chat
I play the Stug III, KV-85, T28 and IS. I also have a King TIger captured Premium from Twitch when I want to feel like the big boys lol

I've recently got back into this as well. I gave up for a while due to medium tank play becoming frustrating. It seems to be about heavys and TDs now.

If you can't beat them then join them. I've been having some good matches in tier 6&7 heavys. I do miss the better standard of play in tier 10 though, but I can't seem to have decent matches in mediums any more.

You may as well download warships too. It's good for a change when you get sick of being on fail teams.

Can anyone join that? Even a bot? (I'm assuming that's what "experts" in the game call noobs, based on the ingame chat)
