Fiesta MK3 Build
Discussion
Seeing as I’m bored, I thought I’d do a build thread for my 5dr MK3 Fiesta.
After owning loads of these, this was an impulse buy after my previous 1.8 powered 3dr one got smashed up when someone plowed into me. I didn’t really want a 5dr but ironically, I’ve done more to this than any other MK3 and owned it the longest.
I bought it simply to reshell the 1.8, but it ended up being much more than that.
Spec list:
Silvertop 2.0 Zetec and genuine solex Twin 40’s
Nodiz ignition management
Billet steel flywheel
Kent FZ2002 cams
Ashley 4-2-1 manifold and exhaust system
Quaife Straight cut gearbox with S1 LSD and 4.1 final drive (to be fitted)
Compomotive MO5 wheels
Hispec billet 4 brakes with braided lines
Gaz coilovers
Front and rear upper/lower strut braces
Polybushed anti roll bars front and rear
Polybushed top mounts
Puma gear linkage
Interior is complete with Fiesta RS turbo seats front and rear and Fiesta Turbo steering wheel.
Car has been set up once on standard Ford Ecu (carb tune up essentially) however it’s going back again on the 6th of July for cams to be dialed in and a proper ignition map.
It’s a little rough body work wise but it’s also my daily so not too worried about making it mint until I have a daily, especially with how inconsiderate other car Park users are!

It’s run several different guises since owning it.
When I bought it (from a chap on Facebook) it was a standard 1.1 with cut springs and fart can exhaust ?? but that soon changed.
I pulled the lump from the blue written off car (which I previously converted from 1.1 to 1.8) and chucked it in the white car with a S2 LSD box which was originally destined for the blue car.
I then blew the 1.8 up after it ran lean, then I fitted the 2.0 and ran that on the efi for a short while before fitting some bike carbs and then the Twin 40’s.
Since then I’ve gone to town on making it drive, handle and stop better.
It gets cained on a daily basis, and the running gear has been apart that much, it may aswell be on wing nuts, gotten pretty quick at pulling it apart though!
My first car after leaving university was a mk3 Fiesta which I bought (but never actually paid for) from my mother. It was the 1.3 and I thrashed that little thing to within an inch of it's life, often with 4 blokes and a mountain of alcohol taking up all the interior space.
Strong little things as I found out when I parked it on its roof.
Good project, looking forward to seeing updates. A nice 1.6 Turbo from an ST would be good!
