I tested drove a Cerbera this weekend at a dealer in North Yorks and encountered a strange problem...

I was accelerating through the gears and when I changed to 3rd gear I experienced a loss of power and a strange vibrating sound. I changed back to 2nd and was unable to re-produce the problem.

Any ideas what this could be? I like the car, but I am wary of this reoccuring after I buy the car. Has anybody experienced the same thing? or perhaps someone with a better understanding of mechanics can explain what it might be.

Thanks for your advice, points of view

When you say loss of power, do you mean the revs went up the the car speed did not ?

Absolutely, is this a sign of a future requirement for a new clutch?

Sounds more like a 'current' requirement rather than one for the future!

If you can get them to fit a new clutch prior to purchase it would be one less thing to worry about, they do tend to eat clutches.

Thanks very much for the advice. I've never had a clutch go on me before, so I wasn't sure what a slipped clutch felt like.

I can see Cerbera ownership will be educational in terms of mechanics!!!
