Classic Prizes

I was flicking through a Practical Classics magazine I have had stuffed away in the loft (quite a few of these actually the earliest from about the late 70s I think). One in particular was from November 1990, and in it there is featured a small news article about a prize to win five Morris Minor convertibles and a Jaguar E-Type series 1 roadster. What are the chances of giving away an E-Type has a prize in a competition these days, particularly with the soaring money they are fetching?. This was for a Lloyds Bank Black Horse Life Pensions compeition, and the lucky winner of said E-Type was 24 year old Jonathan Bowes from Coventry.

I wonder what became of this E-Type, which btw, from looking at the b&w photo appears to be white? Reg no is OUK 306E. Nothing comes up on the dvla or xkedata, I wonder if the winner still owns it? I somewhat doubt it to be honest.

They don't do competitions like that anymore.

Early 80s classic and sportscar gave away a DB6 Volante.

Won by someone sho sold it shortly afterwards

I did some work on a MK2 Jaguar that was a prize in Practical Classics years ago .
Still owned by the guy that won it . He keeps it in tip top condition .
