Are these any good?

looking for a couple of 2 way radios and came across these are they any good?

any problems with them coming from america? ie charging issues relating to the voltage of the plug?

how would i go about doing that?

i dont have a clue about radios! what would be legal and what wouldn't?

I've got a pair of similar Cobra radios to those and my dad has a pair of Motorola ones (more than twice the price!) and the Cobras have a much greater range, batteries last about 5 times longer and are nicer to use

Theyre PR240 which means theyre on a different and illegal frequency for UK i beleive.

The UK equivalent is PMR446....personally id go for the illegal ones tho!

rightey o, they seem like the ones to get

should i get ones off ebay from an english seller or american seller? will the radios be different even though they are sold as the same model? ie in regards to charging, do they have chargersat all? it doesnt say they do

the ones on ebay you get a pair for around 12 quid then 7 postage and packaging.

Let me know how you get on with them when they arrive. If they're any good, I might just order a couple of them. Perrrrfect for road trips

Cobras are good, but we have found here that Motorola is a little better overall. Anyhow, these "family radios" have many available varieties. Different power levels for 2-6 miles, depends on which you buy. Some have charging pedestals for rechargable batteries, some have disposable batteries. Certain type batteries have a "memory" and need to be run all the way down two times in order to give full advertised service time.
