A friend has the above car, its got an aftermarket turbo and was wondering if buying an intercooler would have much effect on power.. I said probably, but he's talking about buying some dodgy looking one on ebay:

I said he was better of talking to someone at briskoda as the fabia, from recollcetion uses a similar engine and from my limited knowledge seems more tuned than its golfs equivalent.
How much power might he be able to gain, with a decent intercooler, 5-10 hp post remap?
Thanks - bit vague i know but its all ive got to go on.

I have the PD130 in a Seat Ibiza.
If it's the same setup then the stock intercooler is a small, side mounted one down in the inner wing. An upgrade to a FMIC will help reduce intake air temperatures during sustained performance driving. Day to day there will be minimal difference and in terms of peak HP there will only be a minimal increase.
