Low mileage S2000

Hi all
Ive been offered an extremely low mile S2000. It's a 2009 car with 10k on the clock.
Its been owned by a pilot and stored in is Hanger when not in use (like most of the time)
It's touted at £20k and seems a lot of money, that said I do love em and I wanted to continue the style of ownership ie the odd drive and stored in my unit.
Good buy?
Are these still losing money or are they slowly creeping?

20k is alot but someone will pay near to that if he holds out long enough. However if your planning on doing alot of miles, then I don't think it would be worth the premium.
My brother had a 20k mileage 2008 one which he sold to a Honda dealer last year. I think he got 15k for it. He could have held out for more but needed to get rid of it quickly.

Great car, had one a few years ago and wish I didn’t sell.
If you want a car to keep forever and take to classic car shows in 20yrs then buy it.
If you want a car to rag around for the summer and not interested in keeping long term there are better cars for the money.
Went to buy another last year, however it wasn’t as good as I remembered so was not willing to pay the silly premiums they are now commanding.
Also have a read about the engines, think there was an issue with the last cars (2009).
If you want a car to keep forever and take to classic car shows in 20yrs then buy it.
If you want a car to rag around for the summer and not interested in keeping long term there are better cars for the money.

I had a look at the car yesterday and WOW - it was like going back in time to 2009 and seeing a new one. Not a blemish anywhere.
Underside was like new - its never ever been out in the rain and always stored indoors in the hangar under a soft cover. I took a light and a mirror and checked thoroughly.
I know there are 'better' cars for the money, like the Porsche linked above, but it's not about that for me. Its more buying a car that I wanted 10 years ago but want in a position to buy and having the chance to buy an 'as new' one.
Having researched it seems they are appreciating in value a little each year which is always a good thing.
Ive got the weekend to mull it over. Ive consulted the financial . director and she's OK with it so I guess it's down to me really.

Tricky - I had one for four years, part exchanged it it six years ago for £4K. If I’d have kept it, I’d probably have made money on it from that point, but never mind! If you want the best example available then this sounds like a candidate, and I can see why it would be tempting... It is an awful lot of money for an S2000 though! Are you planning to use the car through the winter?
If Yes, then buy a cheaper one.
If you're summer use only and have a garage to keep the car in then go for it.

This is the million dollar question, and one I keep asking my friends in the trade as I'm interested in modern classics myself.I'm getting different answers.
Some say this recent rise in values is now over and it'll level out or dip from now on.
Others say the mint, low mileage examples, will continue to slowly rise.
So I'm interested in peoples opinions on here.
I think the price hikes on a lot of cars like say the z3m coupe have peaked for the moment but all desirable cars with low miles and provenance will always find a buyer for strong money.
With the z3m and CSL and 996 turbo and similar is that even the ratty high milers were getting dragged up to ridiculous prices and to my mind those are the cars that ain't selling.

Always the problem with cars that start to appreciate - always get a few fools.

You just need to work out if you want a car to drive and use properly OR a car to stick away for the future.
