Hi,
I'm getting circumcised first thing tomorrow morning due to an excessively tight foreskin, and as you would expect I'm not overly excited about the prospect...
It's something I should have done years ago but always found a reason to put it off. My GP was really helpful, as was the consultant, and I attended a pre-op on Wednesday. I'm self-employed (property maintenance) so have taken next week off, but just wondered if anyone has experience in terms of recovery times, and how it went? My OH is taking me in and bringing me back as it's a general anaesthetic, and hopefully it won't be too uncomfortable...

Had mine done 5 years ago (anniversary on Wednesday) and it was ace, recovery really took a few weeks but honestly one of the best things I’ve ever done.

That’s complete bksIf you had it done at an early age you will know no different, however later years proceedures you do have a huge difference, the glans dries out and sensations dull a fair bit.
balance it up though you cant go on with it as it is... and it takes 2-4 weeks to settle down after it. just keep it dressed and let nature take its course.

I've had it done TWICE!
True!
1st time was done by a newly qualified registrar. He only took half the skin off and I told him at the time it was WRONG, but he wouldn't believe me. Stitches were falling out the very next day. I was off work for 2 weeks.
Scarring made the problems I'd had before even worse. fking muppet of a Dr.!
2nd time: about 8 weeks later, I had it done on BUPA at a private hospital.
No issues at all!
Back to work after a couple of days.
As for sensitivity reducing.... Nah, load of bks!

The most memorable part was waking up in the middle of the night with a raging hard-on and blood running from the stitches around my todger. A swift exit to the bath and running the cold tap onto my poor member ensued.
It was alright in the end though and something I should have had done long before that.
Biggest benefit is no more parmesan issues and the ladies generally prefer a cut one too.

Update!
So far so good....
I left the house at 6.30am, arrived at the hospital at 7.20am, operated on by 11am, and home by 3.30pm
Nurses were all fantastic as was the anaesthetist; the surgeon was the person I spoke to at my original consultation and he was great too. I haven't felt any pain yet although I suspect that will change when the local anaesthetic (that was given with the general) wears off.
I've been given paracetamol, ibuprofen, dihydrucodeiene, and thereafter liquid morphine if I need it! Dressing still attached thankfully.
I have been told to rest for 3-4 days, and so long as it's not too uncomfortable I can live with that (whilst following the World Cup etc.)
