There are a couple of videos showing of the details. Unsure about the rear. Everything else looks predictable. Interior is a big upgrade. Wanted to really like the new Touareg but it’s a bit bland and no 7 seats.

I’ve noticed you can already get 15% off the Touareg.

Anyone waiting to drive/order one?

Yes I’m waiting to order too... local dealership can’t tell me when the PHEV model I’ll be available for deposit though.

The tourag is very plasticky for its price imo although those screens are massive!

I like the x5 but I’d wait a year as discounts will be decent then

I’ve been looking at the x3 and you can already get 11% off the m40d and m40i so another year down the line and they will be even better

I can imagine the bling factor of the screen will wear off when it’s covered in greasy paw prints. You can never get them clean.

I think a hybrid is a very sensible idea. Who knows what will happen to diesel. I’ve read it will be a 2.0 petrol plus battery.

I didn’t realise an X3 M40d was due to be released.

Quite fancying an X3 to replace my 640d.

Despite what people say, I’d much prefer a M40i to an M40d but doing 22k pa the oil burner would make sense.

On the last carwow search the m40i wasn’t listing anything off RRP, that was March though.

Net of discount it’s still a 55k with the requisite extras. A lot when you think about it

One of those things that will make sense depending on your use case. The G05 is expected to be >31 miles (50km) range on battery only. I have a 24 mile commute and can charge both ends. So I reckon I’ll be doing most of my miles in electric mode and then mainly use the engine for holidays and family trips - it’s a 150 mile round trip to my inlaws and we go at least once a month. Some people at this point will be saying “so why not go for a Tesla? They can do that mileage easily on a charge!” - I just don’t like the cars and I don’t like Elon Musk either, so he’s not getting thousand of my money directly.

Of course if you spend your time doing hundred mile journeys each day then go diesel still...

I agree with everything you say. In my opinion musk is a con man. Tesla will not last. You’ll see him accelerate his share sales . Buying his cousins solar business with Tesla cash said it all. And his father, lol, he has a kid with his step daughter. Classy. And he’s a South African

As diesel is in a quandary right now the m40i would be the safer bet but the x4 m40d just got an excellent write up and bmw are committed to diesel till at least 2025 according to local dealers, the m40d x3 has only just become available to order

The m50d in the x5 has 4 turbos.400hp from a 3.0 diesel. Wasn’t that long ago, petrol cars couldn’t achieve that.

I guess bmw can commit all they want but if public perception gets even more negative, values will plummet. I drove a petrol VAG courtesy car last week and achieved 42 indicated on a B road run. Not bad at all.

Not bad but the m40i won’t do that I reckon between 18 and 30 plus the market will become oversaturated with them driving down values

Basically you’re damned with petrol or diesel do just get what suits the lifestyle

I think you're correct but anyone buying X5 xDrive50i will need to gulp when taking a trade in.

Are you guys 100% about the release of an X3 M40d in the UK as, if so, that’d negate any need for the Alpina variant given that, for our market, they’d share the exact same engine (twin turbo with 322hp) It’s a bit of a stinker that we won’t be getting the LHD equivalent with its tri-turbo set up!!
