Hello,

Just taken the rad out of my Cerb, wasn't leaking but I have a nice ally one to replace it with now. Surprising what you find underneath it, aside from the number of large stones, I found a crushed can and a razor blade. Nice.

Anyway, (first) question is I'd like to give the engine a good flush now, but shoving a hosepipe up the top hose goes nowhere (presumably due to the thermostat) and the bottom hose water seems to just go in and out again. Is there an easy way, I suppose I could take the thermostat housing off.

Thanks in advance.

Joe

Blonde moment, sorry - hosepipe down the filler, doh!. I'm so used to flushing engines where you fill the reservoir from the rad. I'm sure there will be less blonde questions later...

Ideally you'd attach the hose to the pump intake at the bottom of the engine

Then the water would flow up through the engine and out of the water rails in the direction of coolant flow

Getting the hose to seal might be tricky

If you've got it all out then check your aircon rad at the same time
